Patients Need Greater Access to Optimal Stroke Care
Strokes are one of the most prominent causes of death, but geographical barriers prevent many patients from receiving care. Today, only 22% of rural Americans live within 30-minutes from a neurologist staffed medical facility. A telestroke program can eliminate these barriers to care.

The best way to improve outcomes from ischemic strokes is to streamline care and ensure tPA is administered within three hours of onset. Unfortunately, many stroke victims fail to arrive at the hospital or stroke center in time for tPA treatments. As a result, only 10% recover fully and 40% of suffer moderate to severe impairments.
